What a great season. I thought all the duets last night were amazing. My favs of course were Dia/Miranda and Javier/Stevie. I did think Stevie kind of “directed” him a bit much, but dude, she is Stevie Nicks. She kind of can. I thought Miranda shared the stage well and really let Dia shine. Honestly, I am so sorry, but I have no idea who Beverly was doing her duet with. As far as Vicci and Pat M…that was pretty good. But again, like I have said before, I feel like she wasn’t giving it her all. It seems to me like that girl could really belt it out if she wanted to, but she is holding back. Am I the only one who thinks that?

Thanks you guys for watching along with me this season. I wonder if Season 2 can be as good? The coaches can’t get this attached to their team each season can they? Poor Blake will have a breakdown if he does. Congrats to Javier!!! Great job this season. A well deserved win.  And Javier…if you need an outfit for the upcoming tour…I got you covered…I know he is a bit understated, nothing too flashy most of the time…so I went with clean and simple.

This week we have Zoey sharing with us her outfit pick. To me, any great outfit is held together by a strong basic. This black long sleeve shirt by Rockies is just that. Zoey’s vision for this outfit…”I plan on wearing the black snap shirt open with the red tank underneath cinched up by my fabulous belt and denim mini.”

To start, Zoey picked the Lane Boots. “First I love love love these boots!!! And so I tried to match the boot without upstaging them.” And then came the other features…”For me I chose the plain black shirt and the red together give just the right touches without overpowering the awesome boot design. But if the situation called for it you could also substitute the red tank with a black one if you wanted to be a little more subtle.”

This necklace by Kender West features a black cross with crystals. According to Zoey, “The necklace is a simple design with some sparkle appropriate for everyday but also glitters in the dance hall lights.”

Did you guys watch the live show last night? It was Blake’s team verses Christina’s team. It was 2 hours long….but I will try and keep my recap short. First the fashion, then the opinions…

The judges perfromed at the opening of the show. Adam tends to wear one of my favorite guy looks a lot, jeans and a worn in tee. Levi’s and Dingo boots would work for him daily.

That is pretty much it for fashion…well, mostly. I did think it was funny when Christina told Lily Elise that she wanted to see her soft side…and then she busted out in a studded dress for her performance.

As far as the songs…I have an overall feeling like there are a lot of bad song choices going on. Ones that don’t fit the singers range. Maybe that is just me? It seems like they struggle through a lot of the time. Anyway. Maybe that is just the learning curve of being on a show like this.

Team Christina: Frenchie, Beverly, Raquel and Lily Elise. I’m pretty sure Frenchie and Beverly will make it through and the other two will leave. There is a lot of shaved heads on this show huh? Sorry – I got side tracked. I am not in love with any of them. I think Lily could be molded by a great producer to be a pop star. I think Frenchie and Beverly have good, strong voices. I am somewhat indifferent to Raquel. What about you? Do you feel passion for any of these ladies? During Lily’s song I thought it looked like Christina was holding back tears, but not emotional ones, more ones of being uncomfortable. She did make Cee Lo cry though, so that says something.

Team Blake: Patrick Thomas, Jared, Xenia and Dia. Ok, I think Patrick Thomas is a good singer. And a cute guy. And represents country music well. But he kind of bores me. I guess I feel like a show like this is about finding something new and different. I feel like he is good, but not new or exciting. Jared I am not sure about. Just not sure. Xenia I think sounds a tad like Nora Jones, but I think she needs more practice and experience. I thought the “dance” that Blake had her do was lame. The pointing thing? Not a fan. I think his advice for dealing with nerves was much better when it came to Dia. Putting her at the piano was a smart move. And then she did great in the group performance. She is my favorite. She needs work, and needs to get stronger, but she is different and new and exciting to me. I think she will make it through, I think Xenia will go home. No idea which of the boys will go on. Blake on live TV…too funny. Just too funny. That’s all I can say.
